FM581 is a full programmable and extremely compact amplifier for DC motors, only 100(h)x65(l)x39(p) millimeters to handle a maximum power up to 1KW (heatsink mount required).

Operation in current or current+speed loop mode with Back-EMF or DC-tachometer feedback.

Digital I/O and analog input are connected through a single flat-cable connector (it's also available a crimp discrete wire socket):

• Main current or speed reference, +/-10V analog input
• Auxiliary input for current limit function, +/-10V analog input
• Tachometer feedback, analog input with automatic offset and scale (max.+/-29V)
• General inhibit input
• Clockwise rotation disable input
• Counter-clockwise rotation disable input
• Open-drain output, drive enable / alarm
• Open-drain output, current limiting / alarm

The installation needs to indicate a little essential parameters, everytime available or easy to calculate:

• Nominal voltage, current and speed
• Maximum current
• Armature resistence for RxI compensation (Back-EMF feedback)
• Tachometer specifications (external tachometer feedback)

Drive is full programmable, with several working options and parameters:

• Selection of current or current+speed closed loop control, with or without additional current limit reference from analog input
• Easy calibration of PI current controller and PID speed controller
• Digital input active-low or active-high selection
• Insert acceleration and/or deceleration ramps and select stop mode on inhibit
• Setup the source of commands and reference values from RS232 serial port, with ModBus based protocol, rather than from the default hardware inputs
• Analog input offset correction and filtering, where required

All parameters and functions are available through RS232 interface with ModBus protocol. We supply a simple PC software application in order to program the drive, with the possibility to save to disk the setup and re-use it.
